Busy, Busy week

Well,  it's finally here,  Shelby's graduation!  What an exciting week we have had!  Here are a few pictures to share with you.

A few of her dear girlfriends and parents came over before
commencement for photos and laughs.

These were Claire's adorable shoes that I had to snap a photo of.

This one's my fav,  friends through the years......

We honored Shelby with a grad party saturday,  I had so much fun getting ready for our guests.  I used old blue mason jars and covered them with photocopied pictures from her old year books dated back to 7th grade to recents ones.  I filled each of them with beautiful flowers and stuck a chalkboard message in each one asking if you could find her picture on the jar.
(you can see them better below)
I scattered them throughout the house and out on the deck, it made it a lot of fun for her friends and family to find her picture from each year.

I also did a large photo heart showcasing photos from events from the school year. I set out her yearbook, and accomplishments for family to see.  Another thing that I did to decorate the deck was hang the outdoor bulb lights, on the cord I clothes pinned black and white photos of her from her childhood to present.

you can see it a bit better in this pic
It turned out to be such a fun day, so many special friends and family coming together to share in her graduation.  Now, I have to get through this week, as next week my 6th grader graduates from elementary school!  Wish me luck!

Graduation Cap Card

Getting ready for graduations!  we have got  Bothell, Woodinville and Kings graduates all next week.  These are nice sized graduation cap cards you can make.  ( I have to say,  I received the tassels from a customer years ago)
I will show you how to make them below.

The card opens up to this size. To do this you cut an 8x8 inch piece of computer paper (cardstock is too thick) fold it in half, turn it and fold it in half again.  Then turn it sideways and fold it once more for the middle peak you see in  the photo.  The cap piece it two pieces of cardstock cut at 4 1/4".  Before you attach them make sure your brad and tassel are attached to the top.  I used tombow adhesive to attach them together

Here is the tassel,  cut yourself a piece of baker's twine at 8", fold in half and tie a knot at the end, and fray. Attach to the brad just by wrapping it once around it.

Here it is completed with the baker's twine tassel,  still just as great looking!

Kid's Class

I held my monthly kid's class on monday and this is what the girlies made.   Dry Erase frames.   I used the just retired Storybook designer series paper for the inside of the frame. Trying to use it all up!   Keep the glass on top so that you can write on it like I did below.  Then take ribbon of your choice to decorate.  I used the brand new very vintage designer series buttons with the white baker's twine.

They also made these modge podge glass plates.  I took the retired Everyday Enchantment paper and had them tear good size pieces.  Once they had them all torn, they added some modge podge to the back of the plate, begin to cover your plate with the different patterns of the paper. Once completed, let dry. Once dry, paint the back of the plate with acrylic paint color of your choice, then at a last coat of the modge podge( not dishwasher safe of course).
I used an olive green paint for the back.
This is how they turned out below.  CUTE!

Here are the girls working on their plates.......
